My Favorite Color Is Greune...

Not "green"...."Gruene."

When I first moved to Austin, Eddie K took me on a little day trip to Gruene, Texas. Let me start by saying Gruene isn't really a place. Except it is an actual place. I don't know, it's weird.

"Henry D. Gruene, the town's founder, originally bought land for a cotton farm in 1872 with his father and brothers. He built his first home in 1872 and modified it over the years. It still stands proudly with its Victoria galleries today as the Gruene Mansion Inn. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated Texas Historic Landmark."

Gruene is, NO DOUBT, a tourist town. People travel from all over to walk from shop to shop, purchase "Welcome to Gruene" t-shirts, and then catch a show at the historic Gruene Hall.
A few weekends ago we were lucky enough to partner with Josh Abbott Band the nonprofit JAB Cares for a little "pop-up shop" at their Saturday night concert. We took all our candles and our rustic display and sold candles + soaps all night long in a place where George Strait started his career.

As a music lover....SWOON.

Here's a few pictures from around town. If you haven't visited, I highly suggest adding this to your bucket list. It's quiet, it's historic, and it's what dreams are made of.
